Lufkin Independent School District: Safe and Secure School Audits
Project Overview
In accordance with Texas Education Code 37.108, the Harris County Education Department and Lufkin Independent School District implemented Safe and Secure Audits.
Provided audits to assist the district in identifying safety and security practices, policies and needs of a facility and make recommendations to help the school create the safest environment possible for students and faculty. We worked in (2) districts: Lufkin School District and Spring Branch Independent School Districts.

Program Development and Implementation:
Laveer Logix provided auditing services to the districts to advance safe and secure environments for learning and teaching. Through its auditing services, the Laveer Logix team was able to assist the school districts in making policy improvements to include best practices, train staff and ensure confidence in its safety protocols to students, faculty and parents. The Laveer Logix team was responsible for the following activities:
- Engagement with school administrators
- Debriefing with school administrators and Superintendents
- Comprehensive Reporting
- Placement of audit staff
- Interior and exterior inspection of campuses and facilities
- Support a Criteria for StandardsÂ
- Recommendations for Emergency Management Planning and Operations
- Recommendations for Communications, Coordination and Business Continuity
- Recommendations for Best Practices
